Following our recent office move from Acocks Green in Birmingham to modern offices in Solihull we are taking advantage of our new premises to invite business owners, executives and our existing clients to brief financial planning seminars. In these events we will share with you ideas to help make more of your hard earned personal finances.

I’ve written before about the importance of adequate estate planning, if you want to preserve wealth for your family. The focus of our first seminar at 6pm on Wednesday 29th January 2014 will be on reducing your inheritance tax burden. In a brief presentation I will provide a guide to tax efficient estate planning showing how you can keep more of your wealth ‘in the family’.

When you think about the value of your house, any savings and investments, insurance policies and any business interests you might have you’ll soon realise how large your estate really is, and how much of a liability you could be leaving, without careful planning. If you leave an estate worth £750,000, for example, you also leave an IHT liability of £170,000 for your family to deal with. Who wants that?

As I’ve commented before (5 reasons to protect your wealth from the tax man) 80% of estates that pay inheritance tax could have avoided the charge. People often think that the only way to avoid inheritance tax is to give assets away. That’s not the case and I’ll explain simple steps you can take to make sure you pass your wealth on to the people you want to have it.

I’m a firm believer that with the right information and knowledge we can all make better decisions, and if I can help in the process by sharing my knowledge of financial planning then I’m more than willing to do so. Our offices are however compact rather than palatial therefore we will have to limit the number of attendees. If you are interested simply email: Joanne Boulton or call 0121 704 1354 and we’ll let you have more details.
